Members of the Board of Trustees
According to the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities No. 20 for the Year 2017, the Board of Trustees is responsible for a number of roles and responsibilities, including approving HCD’s general policy and monitoring its implementation; studying the annual work plan of HCD and approving it; approving HCD’s annual report; discussing issues referred by the President and Secretary-General and making appropriate decisions; providing technical support in preparing the strategies and plans developed by HCD; studying the instructions related to HCD’s work processes, its committees, and its various branches and making appropriate decisions in this regard, as well as studying proposed laws and statutes relating to HCD’s tasks and making appropriate decisions regarding them, and approving the Council's general budget and final financial accounts.
The Board of Trustees has a set of tasks defined by law, such as approving HCD’s general policy and monitoring its implementation, approving the annual plans, discussing matters and issues referred by the President and Secretary-General and making appropriate decisions, as well as providing technical support in preparing the strategies and plans developed by HCD.
The Board of Trustees of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is reconstituted every four years in accordance with the Law, and the Board of Trustees consists of twenty-four members, distributed among three groups, each group comprising representatives of a certain segment. The first group consists of members representing persons with disabilities (different disabilities), the second group consists of independent members with relevant experience in the tasks of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the third group consists of representatives of the families of persons with disabilities. The Board of Trustees is presided over by the president of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, His Highness Prince Mired Raad Zeid Al-Hussein.
