The Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), in collaboration with Madraj for Digital Media Innovation, concluded an intensive training program titled “Digital Start”, aimed at deepening participants’ understanding of digital media and its modern tools.

The program brought together nine specialized trainers and twelve participants with visual, hearing, and physical disabilities. It sought to strengthen their knowledge of rights-based approaches to media coverage and to empower them to produce professional digital content that amplifies their voices as citizens and advocates for inclusion in society.
The sessions explored the current digital media landscape and the transformations in content production globally and regionally. Participants learned about the changing nature of news creation, dissemination, and consumption in an era marked by rapid technological progress, the spread of misinformation, and the diversification of digital platforms. The program emphasized the importance of developing digital content that keeps pace with innovation, while adapting to varied business models, audience needs, and regulatory frameworks.
Key topics included the rights-based and entrepreneurial approach to media, content production strategies, audience analysis, business planning, digital marketing, income generation, and legal protection — with a focus on the Cybercrimes Law, digital data security, and responsible online practices. Participants also received hands-on training in podcast production and creative content development.
This program forms part of HCD’s broader strategy to enhance empowerment, development, and support programs for persons with disabilities through partnerships with local and national institutions. It aims to strengthen their participation in the labor market and media sector by equipping them to create professional, inclusive, and impactful digital content that contributes to a rights-based, inclusive society.
