Jordan Launches Awareness Campaign for the Global Disability Summit 2025

The Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD) has launched a national awareness campaign in preparation for the Global Disability Summit (GDS) 2025, which will take place in Berlin next April. The Summit will be co-hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the International Disability Alliance (IDA).

The campaign was officially launched with the illumination of the Amman Citadel—one of the most iconic archaeological and tourist landmarks in the capital—lit in yellow and dark blue. These colours were carefully selected to represent high visual contrast, a key element of accessibility for persons with low vision. The Citadel was chosen to mark this occasion as it has recently completed accessibility enhancements, making it inclusive for persons with disabilities.

Under the slogan “Without Us You Can’t”, the campaign aims to raise awareness of the themes and objectives of the Global Disability Summit, including the importance of meaningful participation, inclusive development, and mechanisms for accountability in delivering Summit commitments.

The campaign will disseminate a series of key messages through social media platforms, employing creative, accessible, and inclusive formats to ensure effective outreach to persons with disabilities. It targets countries across the region, as well as selected countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, in alignment with the Summit’s global and inclusive vision.
