Alliance Academy Jordan

Alliance Academy Jordan seeks to provide excellent education in a loving, caring and inclusive environment where everyone can grow holistically to make a positive impact in their community.

It pays special attention to offering guidance and support to every individual, regardless of the type of disability or difference, with the goal of empowering them to integrate into society and realize their full potential. The academy aims to install the values of responsibility and respect and building strong relationships thus providing a role model in promoting social integration.

The building has been designed to serve students with physical disabilities, ensuring easy access through ramps, elevators and wide corridors. Additionally, the theatre, playgrounds, and restrooms are appropriately equipped to serve all students.

The two sensory gyms at the Alliance Academy ـJordan are specially designed to provide a diverse and inclusive sensory experience. These rooms contain equipment and tools used under the supervision of an occupational therapist to stimulate various senses in a safe and effective manner by helping students improve their sensory organization and ability to interact with their environment.

The curricula, teaching materials, and individualized plans are flexible and diverse to suit the needs and abilities of students with disabilities, with additional support provided through a one to one learning aide, for students who need them, to ensure the maximum educational benefit.

Speech therapy sessions at Alliance Academy Jordan are an essential part of the comprehensive support the school offers to students with disabilities, particularly those facing difficulties with speech or verbal communication. These sessions aim to improve speech and communication skills, developing the ability to express thoughts and feelings effectively.

        

 

Arab Episcopal School

The school was established with the help of the Anglican Church a kindergarten which was founded in lrbid, Jordan. The goal was to integrate blind and low vision students into the classroom .

Stemming from the principle of rights, Arab guaranteed Episcopal by the School Jordanian opened its doors to emphasize the importance of education and give opportunities to children who were marginalized in the society. Spreading the culture of inclusive education is necessary to change the dominant ideas sometimes found in Jordan. Students were guaranteed an education, if they traveled to the capital, Amman, 100 km away. The distance prevented students from this opportunity to learn.

The school is focusing on inclusive education to emphasize the principle of equality in education and apply the principle of leaving no one behind. The schools believes that education is for all.

        

 

University of Jordan

The University of Jordan is proud of its social responsibilities, as it strives to create an inclusive learning environment that supports all students, including students with disabilities. Recognizing the importance of the rights and requirements of these students.

Among the most prominent services provided by the university to students with disabilities is receiving new students with disabilities and granting them a discount on credit hour fees of 90% for competitively accepted students with disabilities and graduate students, and 75% for students accepted in the parallel program, based on Article 22/a of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Law No. 20 of 2017. The university is also working to record academic materials in an auditory manner for blind and students with visual disability, and provide academic materials for them in Braille in addition to enlarged paper printing.

The university works to provide voice and magnifying computer programs for blind and students with visual disability in the computer lab for students with disabilities in the Student Counseling Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs and in the university library.             

As for the university's environmental adaptation, the university provides ramps, entrances and exits that allow people with physical disabilities to enter, and there are floor markings in the main corridors of the university for persons with mobility disabilities, in addition to providing adapted restrooms, seats and tables of various lengths suitable for students with disabilities.

        

 

Ahliyyah and Mytran School

Al Kashef Center for Inclusive Learning at Ahliyyah and Mytran School was established in 1995 to align with the school’s philosophy of inclusion. Students are supported within their classrooms by support teachers, who collaborate closely with homeroom and subject teachers as one team to implement the academic educational plan. They utilize diverse teaching methods and tools that promote active learning and cater to the varied needs of students.

Ahliyyah and Mytran School has a team of qualified staff members who have extensive experience in training and teaching special educational needs. The center seeks continuous professional development to self-reflect and develop the teachers’ skills leading them to deliver quality education.

The program includes both PYP and MYP support teachers, who work alongside the main teachers inside the classrooms based on weekly preparation meetings to provide students with their needs whether through individual work, group work or exchange of roles.

Language and articulation program aims to detect and engage in the development of communication and language capabilities based on the developmental stages of children.  In this program, we follow up with children who have a linguistic disorder in understanding and receiving information, or in being able to express their needs, desires and feelings. 

Occupational Therapy program aims to detect and intervene to support children's physical, intellectual and emotional development, in addition to the development of children's skills in daily life functions.
