On the occasion of
International Women's Day
and in cooperation with
UNESCO, the roundtable
discussion entitled “Success
Factors for Women with
Disabilities” was held at
the Higher Council for the
Affairs of Persons with
Disabilities, this workshop
aims at identifying the
success factors and
challenges faced by women
with disabilities, Dr. Amal
Nahhas the representative of
HRH Prince Raad bin Zeid the
President of the Council
shed light on the double

discrimination faced by
disabled women according to
their disability and the
fact they are women. |
Dr.Anna Paolini, Head of UNESCO
Office in Jordan said in her speech
that the broad goal for this
roundtable will be reinforcing
success factors for women who are
scientists with disabilities and the
main objective is to raise awareness
of successful scientists women with
disabilities.
Then four women with disabilities
who have reached the prestigious
scientific positions despite their
disability made a presentation about
their success factors and challenges
they had they were Dr.Shaden Elwat,
Dr.Heba Nasereddin, Dr.Samera Ghunam
and Ms. Shereen Hussein, finally the
representative of HRH honored the
participants.
